Ottawa police are responding to a shooting incident with “many injuries reported” in the Centretown part of the city and have warned residents to steer clear of the area.
Police were called to the scene on Gilmour Street before 7:30am local time on Wednesday and tweeted that a “coordinated response” to the incident was underway.

Paramedics told CBC News that three people had sustained “serious” injuries and had been transported to hospital.
The Parliament of Canada Protective Service sent a message to federal employees warning of an “active shooter” still at large, but a police officer later confirmed to Radio Canada that the incident had ended.
