Star Wars: Resistance premiered just last year and gave us the anime-esque Star Wars cartoon we never knew we wanted. Star Wars had already animated the prequel and original trilogy eras with Clone Wars and Rebels, respectively. But this show gave us a new perspective on the sequel trilogy we’re still in the midst of.
However, that sequel trilogy, and the Skywalker Saga as a whole, ends this holiday when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters. And before that happens, Star Wars: Resistance airs its second and final season which will help set up the events of that film. Take a look!
There are so many new Star Wars characters now I can’t keep them straight. But this new season continues the tradition of bringing in famous faces from the movies to help (or harass) these new heroes. Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie return as Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma. And while he’s not voiced by Adam Driver, Kylo Ren does make an appearance. This season is partially set during the events of The Last Jedi so we’ll get to see how Kylo Ren flexes his muscle as new Supreme Leader of the First Order.
I don’t know if there are that many fans of Star Wars: Resistance, but it’s a bummer for them the show is wrapping up so soon compared to other Star Wars cartoons that lasted for many more seasons. Maybe it just doesn’t make any sense to continue this story based on the way The Rise of Skywalker wraps up. And besides, there are other new Star Wars shows to look out for including a revival of the Clone Wars cartoon and the live-action Mandalorian show coming to Disney+.
