President Donald Trump on Tuesday insulted the husband of Kellyanne Conway, the president’s most prominent defender, labeling George Conway “a total loser.”
The president’s insult came piled on top of a tweet from Trump’s 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale, who wrote that “Mr. Kellyanne Conway” was jealous of his wife’s success.
“We all know that @realDonaldTrump turned down Mr. Kellyanne Conway for a job he desperately wanted. He barely worked @TheJusticeDept and was either fired/quit, didn’t want the scrutiny? Now he hurts his wife because he is jealous of her success. POTUS doesn’t even know him!” Parscale tweeted.
“A total loser!” Trump added in a retweet, sharing his campaign manager’s post with his 59.1 million followers.
George Conway, an attorney and constant critic of Trump, devoted multiple Twitter posts over the weekend to the president’s mental state. He tweeted out a cover of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, as well the pages that describe narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder.
Conway replied to Trump’s tweet Tuesday, saying: “Congratulations! You just guaranteed that millions of more people are going to learn about narcissistic personality disorder and malignant narcissism! Great job!”
In 2017, Conway was expected to be nominated to run the Justice Department’s civil division. He claims to have taken his name out of the running after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.
On Monday, George Conway urged voters to think about Trump’s mental condition ahead of the 2020 election.
“*All* Americans should be thinking seriously *now* about Trump’s mental condition and psychological state, including and especially the media, Congress—and the Vice President and Cabinet,” George Conway tweeted.
Trump last year accused George Conway — who he referred to not by his name but as “Mr. Kellyanne Conway” — of seeking publicity for his negative tweets about the president.
Kellyanne Conway on Monday told reporters that she didn’t agree with her husband’s opinion on Trump’s mental state.
“No, I don’t share those concerns,” she said.
“I have four kids and I was getting them out of the house this morning before I got here so I can talk to the president about substance, so I may not be up to speed on all of them,” she said of her husband’s tweets on Monday.
