Hope Hicks to join Fox as corporate communications director

Former White House communications director Hope Hicks will join Fox as an executive vice president and communications director, the company announced in a press release Monday. Hicks, who served previously as White House communications director and was among President Donald Trump's most trusted aides, will be based in Fox's Los Angeles office. There, Hicks will lead corporate communications for the company, which will be spun off as part of 21st Century Fox’s merger with the Walt Disney Company. In her new job, Hicks is likely to make at least seven figures, if one counts salary, bonus and stock, according to a source familiar with corporate pay packages and a former Fox executive. Hicks did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Fox also did not have an immediate comment. 21st Century Fox announced late last year that it would sell off many of its entertainment properties to Disney, leaving Fox News, Fox Business Network and the national Fox Sports networks, along with the Fox broadcast network and local affiliates, to form what owner Rupert Murdoch labeled "the new Fox." Before her work in the White House, Hicks worked in the Trump Organization and served as press secretary for the Trump campaign. In the same Monday press release, Fox also announced that Danny O’Brien will also join the company. O’Brien, who served as former Vice President Joe Biden’s chief of staff when he was in the Senate, will head government affairs. Daniel Lippman and Eliana Johnson contributed to this report. source: https://www.politico.com/story/2018/10/08/hope-hicks-to-join-fox-880974 #Headlines by: idobrin@politico.com (Isabel Dobrin)
