US hits allies with steel tariffs to spark trade war with EU, Canada and Mexico


Trump administration slams traditional trading partners with 25% tariffs on steel and 10% on aluminium The United States has fired the opening shots in a trade war with three of its traditional allies after imposing tariffs on imported steel and aluminium from the European Union, Canada and Mexico. Wilbur Ross, Donald Trump’s commerce secretary, said the 25% duty on steel and the 10% duty on aluminium would be imposed from midnight.
